Karachi is experiencing an intense heatwave today, with temperatures soaring to 97°F (36°C) and humidity levels making conditions even more oppressive. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a heat advisory for the city, warning residents to take precautions as the mercury is expected to remain high throughout the day.

According to PMD forecasts, Karachi will see a high of 98°F (37°C) and a low of 80°F (27°C) today. The extreme heat, coupled with high humidity, has created challenging conditions, with the RealFeel® temperature reaching as high as 111°F (44°C). Light westerly winds of about 5 mph (8 km/h) are providing minimal relief.

The PMD has highlighted the high UV index today, rated at 10, posing a risk of skin damage with prolonged sun exposure. Air quality remains in the fair category, but individuals with respiratory conditions are advised to limit

Stay hydrated and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak hour

Residents can expect slightly cooler conditions in the evening, with temperatures dropping to around 84°F (29°C) by midnight. However, the heatwave is expected to continue into the next few days.

For continuous weather updates and forecasts, visit the Pakistan Meteorological Department or AccuWeather.
