Veteran Pakistani actress Faiza Hassan recently shared candid insights into her early career, the challenges she faced, and the ongoing issue of body-shaming in the entertainment industry. During a talk show appearance, Faiza opened up about the pressures she encountered in her journey to success.

Faiza, who started with small roles, recalled her breakthrough in Raheemm Shah’s iconic music video Kabhi Payal Bajay. Despite her early successes, she faced frequent rejection. “There was a time when someone told me to get plastic surgery on my nose,” she revealed. “I used to be very slim, but even then people would tell me to lose weight. When I watch my old dramas now, I think I looked very fit.”

Discussing the beauty standards within the industry, Faiza drew a comparison to marketing tactics. “It’s like when you go to the market and see a soap with beautiful packaging. You buy it, but when you use it and don’t like the texture, you don’t buy it again. Acting is similar; beauty might get you work once, but only good performance will bring you back.”

On her selective approach to work, Faiza shared that she doesn’t take on many projects. “I don’t have the capacity for it. What’s the point of working so hard in extreme heat if the drama doesn’t even do well?” she questioned. She explained that she only accepts roles that truly touch her heart.

Faiza also reflected on one-sided love, admitting that it had happened to her multiple times. She recalled her first experience with love at 17 or 18, saying, “He was in my college, and I really liked him but then I realized that I tend to fall in love every three to four months. After him, there was someone else. There have been so many now, I’ve lost count,” she added with a laugh.

Throughout the show, Faiza delighted her fans by acting out memorable dialogues from her popular dramas Nand and Burns Road ki Neelofar.

A versatile and acclaimed actress, Faiza Hassan has built a solid reputation in the Pakistani entertainment industry, known for her powerful performances and strong screen presence.
