MUZAFFARGARH— District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah on Tuesday directed the arrest of a man accused of assaulting his elderly father, reaffirming the police’s commitment to upholding the dignity and respect of parents.
According to a police spokesperson, the action followed an open court session held at the DPO office under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ensure citizens’ easy access to justice. The DPO personally listened to public complaints and issued on-the-spot orders for their resolution.
After an elderly citizen lodged a complaint against his son for alleged violence, the DPO immediately ordered his arrest. “The honor and respect of senior citizens will be safeguarded at all costs,” DPO Shah stated, emphasizing continued efforts to guide and reform misguided youth.
In a separate case, a woman filed an abduction complaint. Upon review, the DPO found the investigation suspicious and summoned the investigating officer with the case record. He stressed that justice must not be delayed — false cases should be promptly closed, while genuine offenders must face swift legal action.
DPO Shah reiterated that daily open courts are being held to ensure timely justice and to strengthen public trust in the police system.
