HARIPUR: Students of Government Post Graduate College for Boys staged a protest on Tuesday against the provincial government’s decision to outsource public educational institutions.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans, the protesters blocked GT Road near Darwesh Chowk for about 30 minutes, disrupting traffic before dispersing peacefully.

Students from several government colleges have been boycotting classes since September 2, demanding the withdrawal of the outsourcing plan.

Meanwhile, the government maintains that the move aims to boost enrollments and improve education quality, asserting that only low-enrollment institutions are being outsourced and teachers’ jobs will remain s

ecure.
