Karachi’s Progress Key to Pakistan’s Future: Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Education and MQM-Pakistan Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui emphasized that Pakistan’s survival, prosperity, and security are deeply tied to the progress of Karachi.

Speaking at a ceremony held at the Pakistan Eye Bank Society Hospital, Dr. Siddiqui described Karachi as the “charitable capital of the world,” saying the city uplifts others rather than relying on anyone. He stated that Karachi represents every corner of the country, connecting directly with Pakistan’s social and economic lifeline.

“Karachi’s survival is Pakistan’s survival, and its security is Pakistan’s security,” he asserted, stressing that national prosperity cannot be achieved without the city’s development.

Highlighting his recent initiatives in education, the minister shared that three new universities have been established in Karachi and one in Hyderabad, all without public fanfare. “We didn’t want to make noise our focus was on real work, not publicity,” he said.

Dr. Siddiqui also commented on Karachi’s challenges, claiming that the real issue is not water shortage but the “lack of vision in the eyes of Sindh’s rulers.” He lamented that while Karachi has no more land to offer, it still has a strong conscience and resilience.

Concluding his address, the MQM-P chief said Karachi never competes with others rather, it sets an example for the entire nation. “Loving Karachi is a condition to truly love Pakistan,” he remarked.
