The University of Karachi’s Syndicate has unanimously approved the appointment of a deceased student’s sister to a Grade-16 position, following the tragic campus bus accident that claimed the student’s life.

The decision was made during a Syndicate meeting chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi on Saturday at the VC Secretariat. Members expressed deep sorrow over the incident involving a second-year Social Work student who was allegedly hit by a university point bus.

Prayers were offered for the deceased, and condolences were extended to the grieving family. The VC shared that the family had declined financial assistance, instead requesting employment for the student’s sister to support their household.

Moved by compassion and humanitarian values, the Syndicate approved the job appointment unanimously. The meeting also ratified the appointment of new department chairpersons and endorsed minutes of previous sessions.
