The Sindh College Education Department has directed all public colleges, regional directorates, and attached offices operating under its administrative control to establish official websites within 30 days. The move is aimed at improving transparency, strengthening digital governance, and making important academic information more accessible to students and the public.

According to an official circular, several colleges and departmental offices have yet to develop official websites despite the growing need for online access to educational services. The department said every institution must create and maintain a functional website to ensure timely communication and efficient dissemination of information.

The websites will be required to include essential information such as the institution’s profile, contact details, admission information, academic programmes, fee structure, staff directory, notifications, circulars, downloadable forms, public notices, and a grievance redressal mechanism. Colleges must also ensure compliance with accessibility, cybersecurity, and data protection standards.

To support the initiative, the department’s Information Technology (IT) Wing will provide technical assistance for website development, hosting, security, standardization, and content management. Institutions have been instructed to coordinate with the IT Wing throughout the implementation process.

The College Education Department has warned that all websites must be fully operational and publicly accessible within the stipulated 30-day period. Heads of institutions will be required to submit compliance reports upon completion, while failure to implement the directive may result in administrative action under the relevant government rules and regulations.
