Dr. Rubabah Khan Bledi, the Provincial Advisor for Women Development, inaugurated the first-ever Anti-Rape Crisis Cells in Balochistan at the Civil Sundeman Provincial Hospital Quetta and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, with the cooperation of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bledi emphasized that the establishment of these crisis cells is a revolutionary step for the protection of women and children in the province. The cells are designed to provide immediate and comprehensive assistance to victims, operating with modern facilities and procedures.

Dr. Bledi stated that this initiative is part of the vision of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sardarfaraz Bugti, under the Women Development Department’s mission to end gender-based violence and ensure immediate justice for victims.

She further explained that these crisis cells are the first of their kind in Balochistan, where medical aid, psychological counseling, legal assistance, and police support will be provided under one roof. This integrated approach will not only ensure timely help for victims but also expedite the legal processes of such cases.

Dr. Bledi highlighted that the provincial government remains committed to empowering women and safeguarding their rights. She also extended her gratitude to UN Women for their technical and administrative support in making this initiative possible.

She expressed hope that similar centers would be established in other districts of Balochistan in the future to ensure that women and children across the province have access to timely support and justice.
