RAHIM YAR KHAN – A 24-year-old woman allegedly subjected to sexual assault climbed a 100-foot-high water tank to protest police inaction against influential suspects.

According to Geo News, the woman threatened to end her life after police refused to register a case against the accused. She was later persuaded by police and family members to come down after being assured that the case would be filed.

The survivor, identified as Ayesha, a resident of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, claimed that an influential man repeatedly assaulted her over two months, initially at gunpoint and later by blackmailing her with objectionable videos.

Ayesha alleged that the suspect drugged her, recorded explicit videos, and showed them to her relatives while threatening her with dire consequences. She added that despite orders from senior officials and even a court directive, the local police failed to register the FIR, leaving her no choice but to attempt suicide in protest.
