A speeding dumper claimed another life in Karachi on Monday night, when it rammed into a motorcycle near Ramswami on Nishtar Road within the limits of Garden Police Station.
According to police, the motorcyclist died on the spot while a woman accompanying him sustained injuries.
Following the accident, enraged citizens set the dumper on fire. Police and fire brigade teams arrived promptly and brought the situation under control.
The body of the deceased and the injured woman were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi. The victim was identified as 25-year-old Shahzaib, son of Shahid, while efforts are underway to identify the injured woman.
Police said that the dumper driver, identified as Niaz, has been arrested, and further investigation is in progress.
