Karachi: Two separate road accidents in Karachi have once again exposed the dangers of uncontrolled heavy traffic on city roads. In one incident near Landhi’s Yunus Mill, a speeding bus fatally struck a motorcyclist. In another, a water tanker crushed a young biker near Main Korangi Road, severely injuring him. In both cases, the drivers fled the scene, abandoning their vehicles.
According to SHO Khushi Muhammad of Quaidabad Police Station, the deceased in the Landhi incident has been identified as 43-year-old Shamsuddin, who was riding a motorcycle when a reckless bus rammed into him. The bus driver escaped, while the police seized the bus and transferred it to the station. The body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital by Chhipa volunteers.
In the second incident near Akhtar Colony Bus Stop, a speeding water tanker crushed the leg of a young motorcyclist. He was shifted to Jinnah Hospital in critical condition. Following the accident, angry citizens gathered at the site and broke the tanker’s windows in protest. The police later impounded the vehicle.
