Peshawar: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has foiled an attempt to fraudulently obtain Pakistani citizenship and arrested four suspects, including an Afghan national, during a major operation in Peshawar.
According to the FIA spokesperson, officials from the Anti-Corruption Circle, Peshawar, apprehended the suspects from the NADRA Regional Office in the city.
The arrested individuals were identified as Sadiqullah, Samiullah, Fayyaz Khan, and Younas Khan. The spokesperson stated that Sadiqullah, an Afghan citizen, was attempting to acquire a Pakistani identity using forged documents, while Younas Khan posed as his father to facilitate the fraudulent registration.
Additionally, suspects Fayyaz Khan and Samiullah acted as witnesses and provided false verification to support the fake citizenship claim.
The FIA has initiated further investigation following the arrests.
