KARACHI: The Kharadar Police have arrested a man impersonating a police officer who was allegedly intimidating and harassing citizens in various parts of the city.
According to the spokesperson for District City Police, the suspect, identified as Adnan, was found wearing a police T-shirt and cap. Two bags and other items resembling police gear were also recovered from his possession.
The spokesperson said that the accused had been posing as a police constable in different localities of Kharadar, using the disguise to harass the public and damage the reputation of the police department.
During a routine patrol, officers stopped the suspect, who introduced himself as a constable. However, upon verification and interrogation, it was revealed that he was impersonating an officer. The suspect was taken into custody, and a case has been registered against him.
Police further disclosed that Adnan had previously been arrested in Islamabad under FIR No. 402/2022, registered under Section 380 (theft) of the Pakistan Penal Code. The suspect has now been handed over to the Investigation Police for further inquiry.
