Security forces carried out a major intelligence-based operation in the Kurram district, eliminating 23 militants reportedly linked to foreign support networks.
According to security officials, the operation was launched after credible information about militant movement in the area. Intense exchange of fire continued for several hours, during which the militants’ hideouts were destroyed and several weapons were recovered.
Officials said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to ensure lasting peace in the region and to prevent cross-border elements from destabilizing local communities. The area has been cordoned off, and a clearance operation is currently underway.
Local residents have expressed relief, saying the successful operation has restored a sense of security in the area after weeks of tension.
