Grace Ji-Sun Kim reflects on her deep-rooted connection to Korea from childhood memories of her grandmother’s home to the cultural traditions that continue shaping her identity. Although she left Korea as a child and now teaches in the United States, the country remains the center of her spiritual and ancestral life.

Her recent visit to Korea, alongside Rev. Fletcher Harper of GreenFaith, renewed that bond. The two met with Korean ecumenical and multi-faith leaders working on climate justice. GreenFaith, a global interfaith movement, aims to mobilize people of faith to confront environmental harm and push for just, sustainable policies.

Kim highlights how faith communities can play a transformative role in climate action when guided by moral clarity. Rev. Harper’s reflections emphasize both the challenges Korea faces and the opportunities for collaboration between Korean religious groups and global climate movements seeking a fairer, greener future.
