Police in Swabi have solved a blind murder case by arresting a man for allegedly killing his own father, officials confirmed on Saturday. The Zeda Police traced the case and apprehended the suspect along with the murder weapon, a pistol.
Police said the accused had initially lodged an FIR against unidentified assailants, claiming they shot his 52-year-old father, Ibadullah, while he was heading to the mosque for Fajr prayers. The incident was reported by the suspect, Ayanullah, who portrayed himself as a witness.
The District Police Officer (DPO) Swabi, Ziauddin Ahmed, took notice of the brutal incident and assigned a special task to investigators to uncover the truth. A team led by DSP Swabi Circle Ejaz Abazai, along with SHO Zeda Police Station Farooq Khan, used modern forensic and technical methods to identify the real culprit within hours.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to killing his father, revealing that ongoing domestic disputes and personal resentment led him to commit the crime. Police said further investigation is underway.
