Islamabad police have uncovered a shocking case in which two federal police officials allegedly formed a criminal gang and abducted a gold trader for ransom.
According to official sources, the suspects kidnapped a trader belonging to Swat while he was returning after selling gold in Rawalpindi. The victim was allegedly taken to a private torture cell, where he was subjected to severe physical abuse and intimidation.
Sources said the accused forcibly obtained fingerprints on blank papers, threatened the victim with dire consequences, and warned him not to inform anyone. The suspects initially seized Rs400 million from the trader’s vehicle during a so-called search operation.
The victim stated that after repeated pleas, the accused returned Rs200 million while retaining the remaining Rs200 million. One of the accomplices allegedly introduced himself as an FIA officer.
Following a complaint filed by the affected traders, Islamabad Inspector General of Police Ali Nasir Rizvi ordered a formal inquiry. SP Saddar Ali Kazim conducted the investigation and found two ASI-rank police officials guilty.
Subsequently, a case has been registered against the two ASIs and their accomplices, and further legal proceedings are underway.
