RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to countering internal and external threats, including divisive elements and hostile campaigns aimed at destabilising the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Field Marshal made these remarks during visits to the Gujranwala and Sialkot Garrisons, where he reviewed operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives to strengthen combat readiness.
During the visit, he observed a field training exercise and toured an advanced simulator training facility. He praised the troops for their professionalism, high standards, and strong state of readiness, highlighting the importance of continuous improvement in training.
The army chief stressed that modern warfare requires technological adaptability, sharp situational awareness, precision, and quick decision-making. He underlined that these qualities are essential to meet emerging security challenges effectively.
While interacting with officers and soldiers, the COAS commended their high morale and dedication to national security. He emphasised the need for disciplined, mission-focused training to ensure preparedness in all circumstances.
The ISPR said the Field Marshal also warned against hostile hybrid warfare, extremist ideologies, and propaganda-driven efforts designed to create divisions and weaken national stability, reiterating that the army remains vigilant against such threats.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Gujranwala, the COAS was received by the Corps Commander Gujranwala.
Meanwhile, last month, ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry highlighted concerns over foreign based social media campaigns targeting Pakistan. Speaking to senior journalists, he said several overseas operated accounts were spreading false narratives, attempting to incite unrest and chaos within the country.
The DG ISPR noted that some Baloch separatist political accounts, allegedly run from Europe, were actively influencing political discourse in Pakistan through misinformation and propaganda, posing a challenge to internal harmony.
