Lahore: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl in the Achhra area of Lahore.
According to a police spokesperson, SHO Achhra Ilyas Sindhu, along with his team, conducted a raid in Fazlia Colony and apprehended the accused, identified as the child’s neighbor. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspect.
Police stated that the child had gone to the suspect’s house to play, where the incident occurred. The accused allegedly threatened the victim with serious consequences if she disclosed the matter. The incident came to light after the girl informed her father, Hassnain, who immediately contacted the police.
Upon receiving the complaint, SP Model Town assigned ASP Gulberg a special task to investigate the case, considering its sensitive nature. SP Model Town Shehrbano Naqvi confirmed that a case has been registered against the suspect, Farooq, and the investigation has been handed over to the Gender Cell to ensure transparency and due legal process.
She emphasized that crimes against children will not be tolerated and that strict action will be taken in accordance with the law. Authorities have assured that the investigation will be conducted on merit and that the victim is being provided legal protection
