Seasonal illnesses among children are increasing at an alarming rate due to dry weather.
According to details, the number of patients visiting the OPD and emergency departments of Shahdara Social Security Hospital is increasing daily, with a large number of children suffering from cough, cold, flu and throat-related illnesses.
Medical Superintendent Mazhar Awan said that dry weather is causing respiratory and allergy related diseases among pregnant women and children, while children with weak immune systems are being affected the most.
Medical experts have advised parents to provide children with a warm and humid environment and ensure increased water intake.
The MS further said that precautionary measures should be adopted on doctor’s advice to protect against seasonal effects.
