Rawalpindi: A disturbing incident of street crime was reported in the Dhamial police jurisdiction of Rawalpindi, where a three-year-old girl was robbed of her gold earrings while playing outside her home.
According to police sources, the incident occurred in Ashraf Colony, where an unidentified suspect forcibly snatched the earrings from the child and fled the scene. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the suspect moving swiftly through the street moments after committing the crime.
The footage also captures the distressed child running after the suspect while crying in pain and holding her ear. Police confirmed that a case has been registered on the complaint of the child’s father, identified as Parvez.
Taking serious notice of the incident, City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Khalid Hamdani, has directed the Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) and SSP Investigation to ensure the swift arrest of the suspect. Police teams have been formed and are using CCTV footage to trace the accused.
