Symptoms of Pneumonia in Children:
Pneumonia in children is considered a common disease. While it is common, it is also dangerous, as it causes the deaths of millions of children every year. According to the World Health Organization, 14 percent of children die each year due to pneumonia, and in 2019 alone, approximately 7.5 million children lost their lives because of it.
Children under the age of five are most commonly affected by this disease. Therefore, parents need to take timely measures to protect their children from this life-threatening illness. If a child contracts pneumonia, their health can be severely affected, and its impact can last for several weeks or even months.
Parents should first understand the causes that make children vulnerable to pneumonia. Generally, children face pneumonia due to bacteria, viruses, and fungi. For this reason, pneumonia is considered a contagious disease. Since it can easily spread from one child to another, it is necessary to adopt preventive measures to protect children from it.
