Monkeypox Risk Becomes Serious in Punjab, 4 Patients Reported

The risk of monkeypox has become serious in the provincial capital of Punjab, with four patients reported.

‎According to the Health Department, cases of citizens being affected by monkeypox are continuing, and four new patients were confirmed in Lahore during the past 24 hours.

‎CEO Mayo Hospital Professor Haroon Hameed said that four monkeypox patients have been reported and their treatment is ongoing. Among the patients, 30 year old Sultana Iram and 25 year old Hamza were found to be infected with monkeypox.

‎He said that monkeypox virus was also detected in 33 year old Noman and 18 year old Uns, which has been confirmed through laboratory tests. All medical facilities are being provided to the patients at Mayo Hospital.

‎Meanwhile, the CEO of Mayo Hospital further stated that the condition of all patients is out of danger.
