A seven-year-old girl was killed and a police official injured during an exchange of fire while police were attempting to arrest a proclaimed offender in Bhakkar.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Mango Changar area, where a Crime Control Department (CCD) team conducted a raid at the suspect’s residence to arrest a proclaimed offender wanted in an attempted murder case.
Police officials stated that firing erupted during the operation, resulting in the death of the minor girl, who was present at the location, while a police officer sustained injuries.
Taking advantage of the situation, the suspect managed to escape. Police said that search operations are underway to apprehend the fugitive.
Authorities confirmed that the proclaimed offender is wanted in a case related to attempted murder, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
