The government has decided to launch the second national polio eradication campaign of the year 2026 in April.
The second national polio eradication campaign of 2026 will continue from April 13 to April 19. The polio campaign will be conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
More than 400,000 polio workers will perform their duties in the national polio campaign. The first national polio eradication campaign of 2026 was scheduled from February 2 to February 8 last month.
The National Emergency Operations Centre says that so far one polio positive case has been reported in 2026. The presence of the polio virus has been confirmed in environmental samples from 24 districts of the country.
