Dangerous Revelation Regarding the Use of Common Painkillers

Experts have warned that the use of common painkiller medicines can damage kidney function.

‎According to Kidney Care UK and the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), people should not rely excessively on anti inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen for pain treatment because they can affect kidney function.

‎Experts say that individuals who have a higher risk of kidney disease, such as patients with diabetes or those suffering from high blood pressure, should be especially cautious.

‎However, even people with healthy kidneys can suffer damage if they take painkillers in high doses and for a long period of time. These medicines reduce blood flow to the kidneys or affect their tissues.

‎Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, naproxen and diclofenac can increase blood pressure and damage the blood vessels inside the kidneys.

‎Chairman of the National Pharmacy Association, Olivier Picard, said that while medicines have the power to heal, they also have the ability to cause harm.
