Farhan Rashid, Director of the Institute of Blood Transfusion, has been removed following an incident at Gangaram Hospital Lahore where a security guard was found taking blood samples.
Action was taken after alleged negligence of the institute’s staff was proven. According to sources, the decision was made due to a shortage of staff in the blood bank and the involvement of a guard in medical procedures.
Professor Dr. Shabnam Bashir has been appointed as the new Director of the Institute of Blood Transfusion, and the Punjab Health Department has issued the notification of her appointment.
