Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that any decision regarding an increase or decrease in petrol prices will be announced by the Petroleum Ministry.
Speaking in Islamabad, the finance minister said the government is continuously reviewing the impact of global oil prices. He added that the final announcement on petroleum product prices will be made by the relevant ministry.
Aurangzeb said decisions are being taken after considering fluctuations in the international market. He also said the government is reviewing different measures to provide relief to the public.
His statement comes amid public concern over possible changes in petroleum prices. Consumers are now waiting for the Petroleum Ministry’s formal announcement.
