Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has directed authorities to establish beautification zones along major roads in the city.
The mayor said special attention should be given to improving the appearance of key roads, intersections and public spaces. He directed the relevant departments to ensure cleanliness, landscaping, lighting and maintenance in selected areas.
According to officials, the beautification plan will focus on major routes used by thousands of citizens daily. The initiative is aimed at improving the city’s overall look and providing a better environment for commuters and residents.
The mayor also instructed municipal teams to remove encroachments, clear garbage and ensure regular upkeep of green belts and roadside areas.
He said Karachi is the country’s largest city and its main roads should present a cleaner and more organised image.
