The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Education Department has launched summer camps in government schools across the province to help students recover learning losses caused by the implementation of a four-day school week. The initiative aims to strengthen students’ academic performance and ensure they remain on track with the curriculum before the start of the next academic session.

According to education officials, the summer camps will focus on core subjects including Mathematics, Science, English, and Urdu. Teachers have been instructed to provide additional learning support, revision sessions, and skill-building activities to help students overcome gaps in their studies. The program is expected to benefit thousands of students, particularly those preparing for key examinations.

The decision follows concerns from educators and parents that reduced classroom time under the four-day week policy had affected students’ learning outcomes. Education experts warned that prolonged reductions in instructional hours could impact academic achievement, especially in rural and underserved areas where access to supplementary educational resources is limited.

Officials say the camps will offer an engaging learning environment through interactive lessons, group activities, reading sessions, and educational exercises designed to improve comprehension and critical thinking skills. In addition to academic support, students will also have opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities aimed at enhancing creativity and confidence.

The provincial government has described the initiative as part of a broader effort to improve educational standards and minimize disruptions to student learning. Authorities believe the summer camps will help bridge educational gaps and better prepare students for the challenges of the upcoming school year.
