The federal government has allocated more than Rs 3.78 billion in the Budget 2026-27 for the establishment of four Daanish Schools in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), aiming to expand access to quality education in remote and underserved regions. The initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve educational opportunities and human resource development across the country.
According to official budget documents, the new Daanish Schools will be established in Bagh, Bhimber, Neelum, and Haveli Kahuta districts. The allocated funding includes Rs 514.5 million for Hari Gehal Bagh Daanish School, Rs 600 million for Bhimber Daanish School, Rs 1.558 billion for Sharda Neelum Daanish School, and Rs 1.109 billion for Haveli Kahuta Daanish School.
Officials stated that the project is intended to provide modern educational facilities, quality teaching resources, and improved learning environments for students living in far-flung areas. The schools are expected to offer opportunities to talented students from low-income families who may otherwise have limited access to quality education.
The Daanish School initiative is part of the federal government’s ongoing efforts to expand the successful model of free and high-quality residential education beyond Punjab. Authorities believe the new institutions will help reduce educational disparities, promote academic excellence, and contribute to the socio-economic development of AJK by investing in the region’s youth.
