Protests and strike actions intensified across Balochistan as government employees, workers’ groups, traders, and transporters continued demonstrations over various demands, leading to disruptions in public services, business activities, and educational institutions in several areas.
Government employees and labor organizations launched province-wide protests, setting up sit-in camps and demanding higher wages, inflation-linked salary adjustments, and improved benefits. Protest leaders warned of further action if their demands were not addressed by the provincial government.
Separately, traders and transporters organized shutter-down strikes in response to deteriorating security conditions and attacks on commercial vehicles. Markets remained closed and transport services were suspended in many districts, significantly affecting daily life and economic activity.
Authorities held negotiations with representatives of the business community, resulting in the temporary suspension of some strike activities and the reopening of key highways. However, concerns over security and public-sector grievances continue to fuel unrest across the province.
Officials have urged dialogue and cooperation to resolve the issues, while protesters insist that meaningful action is needed to address their economic, administrative, and security-related concerns.
