Fake phone calls aimed at illegally collecting money from nurses in Punjab have been uncovered.
A new fraud targeting nurses across Punjab has come to light, where fake callers are attempting to extort money from government nurses in the name of approving transfers, leave applications, and resignations.
According to sources, some nurses have allegedly transferred money to these fake numbers, while reports have also emerged that the WhatsApp accounts of nurses at certain government hospitals have been hacked.
According to the Punjab Health Department, fake callers are demanding money from nurses on the pretext of resolving official matters or securing approvals, and several suspicious mobile numbers have also been identified.
The Health Department has issued an alert to all teaching hospitals, medical colleges, and nursing institutions, warning nurses not to provide personal or financial information to any unauthorized individual.
The advisory states that nurses should immediately inform the relevant administration about any suspicious call or message and avoid any type of financial transaction.
