The World Bank has announced that it will continue its support for improving the health sector in Pakistan.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal met with representatives of the World Bank, during which detailed discussions were held regarding Pakistan’s health sector.
According to the spokesperson for the Health Ministry, the federal health minister briefed the World Bank on ongoing reforms and initiatives in the healthcare sector, upon which World Bank representatives appreciated Pakistan’s National Health Support Program.
The spokesperson further stated that World Bank representatives also praised the local production of vaccines in Pakistan. They said they are fully aligned with health related policies, projects, and future vision, adding that the World Bank is ready to support vaccine production in Pakistan.
The World Bank also assured cooperation for improving primary healthcare and promoting telemedicine services.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal appreciated the World Bank’s support for all these efforts and said that the government will continue working with international organizations to improve the health sector.
