CALIFORNIA — Google has officially rolled out a brand-new feature for its Google Wallet application, allowing users to track their online orders and shipping parcels directly from the wallet interface. Under this new mechanism, the system automatically scans the user’s Gmail inbox to identify digital receipts and tracking codes, subsequently displaying real-time shipping updates right on the Google Wallet home screen. Packages scheduled for imminent arrival will be prominently displayed alongside the user’s digital payment cards, providing quick access to detailed transit information.
Once a delivery is successfully completed, users have the option to manually remove the item from their active tracking feed, though Google plans to fully automate this archiving process in future updates. The tech giant emphasized that this integration operates purely on information extraction and will not alter, delete, or impact the organization of emails within the user’s Gmail account. To access this synchronization, users must navigate to their Gmail settings and ensure that the “Google Workspace smart features and personalization” setting is enabled. Currently, this facility is exclusively available to users in the United States and supports the notification formats of most major retail chains, though universal compatibility with all e-commerce stores is not yet guaranteed.
