India, stating that India is playing with fire by promoting a dangerous narrative. He emphasized that while Pakistan is a peace-loving nation, it is fully prepared for war if one is imposed.

In an interview with the BBC, the DG ISPR said that a nuclear war between India and Pakistan would be foolish and could lead to mutual destruction. “A nuclear war is an unimaginable and irrational idea,” he added.

General Sharif accused India of crafting a false narrative to serve its internal political objectives and increase regional tension. He pointed out that similar strategies have been used in the past, but the world now recognizes India’s stance as baseless.

He referenced Pakistan’s strong military response on the night of May 6 and 7, claiming that six Indian jets were downed. “We could have done more, but our leadership chose restraint and responsibility,” he said.

DG ISPR also addressed the ceasefire talks, noting that India’s DGMO reached out first, but Pakistan responded only after its countermeasures were completed.

He firmly rejected Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s claim that Pakistan was warned in advance about missile strikes. “This is a laughable narrative from Indian media,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s intelligence doesn’t rely on Indian sources.

Finally, he reiterated that Pakistan is firmly against terrorism and is willing to take action against any individual proven to be involved, provided credible evidence is shared.
