LOS ANGELES — British actor Tom Hiddleston humorously analyzed the stark differences between himself and his iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) character, Loki, while promoting his new documentary project, Pompeii: Out of Time. During a playful interview with Disney+, the 45-year-old actor participated in a rapid-fire game choosing who would fare better in various scenarios, a nod to the memorable Loki series episode where the God of Mischief time-travels to the historic city of Pompeii. When asked who would best survive the ancient volcanic eruption, Hiddleston immediately picked Loki, noting, “He is getting out of there. I’m not.” However, The Night Manager star drew a firm line at companionship, confidently asserting that he would make a far superior travel partner because he would absolutely never embark on a road trip with Loki.
The lighthearted debate continued with Hiddleston making a surprising claim about who is more likely to cause real-world mischief. “Probably not Loki because he’s busy,” the actor quipped, jokingly adding, “Ultimately me. I’m the God of Mischief.” When tasked with deciding who could better pull off a classic Roman toga, Hiddleston critiqued his character’s signature locks, stating that Loki’s hair wasn’t particularly fashionable for the era, whereas he possessed the perfect “Caesarean hair” to match the attire. Hiddleston, who has proudly portrayed the anti-hero for well over a decade, remains deeply attached to the role.
