QUETTA — Investigators probing the disappearance of Mir Raza have uncovered a critical piece of evidence: CCTV footage showing the victim carrying a pistol shortly before he vanished. The video, now a focal point of the police inquiry, challenges the initial narrative surrounding his sudden absence and has shifted the investigation’s trajectory.

The footage, captured from a street camera in a high-traffic area, depicts Raza walking alone. The weapon is clearly visible in his hand. Police sources confirm the timestamp aligns with the hours leading up to the report of his disappearance.

This discovery complicates an already tense investigation. Family members have previously alleged foul play, citing recurring threats against Raza. Law enforcement, however, is now looking into whether the victim was anticipating a confrontation or if the weapon was a defensive measure against a known threat.

“We are analyzing the footage to determine the exact route he took after this point,” said a senior official close to the investigation. “The presence of the weapon changes our line of questioning. We aren’t just looking for a missing person anymore; we are looking for the motive behind a potential premeditated encounter.”

The police have yet to recover the firearm, nor have they identified the intended destination of the victim in the footage. Forensic teams are currently scrubbing the area for additional camera angles to track his movements after he moved out of the frame.

The case has drawn significant attention across the province, with local activists demanding transparency. Previous leads had stalled, with investigators struggling to find witnesses in the area where Raza was last seen. This new visual evidence provides the first concrete timeline for the final hours he was observed in public.

For now, the investigation remains open. Authorities are expected to bring in known associates for further questioning as they attempt to piece together who Raza intended to meet — and why he felt the need to be armed.
