The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched the Global Virtual School (GVS), a public-sector initiative aimed at expanding access to modern and technology-based education. The programme is designed for students from Grades 6 to 12, particularly those living in remote and underserved areas where access to quality educational facilities can be limited.
The virtual school will provide students with live and recorded lessons, digital learning material, virtual classrooms, assessments, progress tracking and virtual laboratory exercises. A key feature of the programme is its AI teacher, which can explain lessons, answer students’ questions and provide learning support in Urdu, English and Pashto.
Officials said the initiative is intended to make education more accessible while introducing students to artificial intelligence and other digital learning tools. The programme is part of KP’s wider efforts to modernise public education and prepare students for a technology-driven future.
