The Rawalpindi District Health Department has reported six confirmed dengue cases in the district so far this year, with no deaths recorded from the disease. Officials said no new dengue cases were reported during August and September, while the latest confirmed cases were recorded in July.
Health authorities have intensified surveillance and anti-dengue activities across the district amid concerns over mosquito breeding. Around 1,400 teams are engaged in field operations, inspecting homes and potential breeding sites and taking action where dengue larvae are found.
Authorities have also registered 1,973 cases for violations of dengue prevention measures, sealed 537 premises, issued 1,778 challans, and imposed fines exceeding Rs2.1 million. Officials have urged residents to eliminate stagnant water and cooperate with dengue prevention teams.
The health department continues to monitor high-risk areas closely as the seasonal risk of dengue transmission remains a concern.
