The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has revised profit rates on several National Savings schemes for September 2026, with most major products seeing reductions while selected short-term and Islamic savings instruments received higher returns. The revised rates became effective from September 8 to September 11, depending on the scheme.

Under the latest schedule, the profit rate on Defence Savings Certificates has been reduced by 33 basis points, from 11.94% to 11.61%. The revised rate is effective from September 8, 2026.

The rates for Behbood Savings Certificates, Pensioners Benefit Accounts and Shuhada Family Welfare Accounts have each been reduced by 36 basis points, from 12.96% to 12.60%. These revised rates also took effect on September 8.

The profit rate on Regular Income Certificates (RIC) has been reduced from 11.52% to 11.16%, effective September 9. Similarly, the rates for Special Savings Certificates (SSC) and Special Savings Accounts (SSA) have been reduced from 11.20% to 10.90%, effective September 10.

The Short Term Savings Certificate (STSC) was an exception to the general downward trend. Its profit rate increased by 11 basis points, rising from 11.17% to 11.28%, effective September 9.

National Savings also increased returns on selected Islamic products. The one-year Sarwa Islamic Savings Account (SISA) and one-year Sarwa Islamic Term Account (SITA) rates were both raised from 11.10% to 11.25%. The revised SISA rate became effective September 10, while the SITA rate took effect on September 11.

The Savings Account rate remains unchanged at 10% per annum, according to the official National Savings website.
