The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has conducted cyber awareness sessions at schools and colleges in Multan, Gujranwala, Gilgit and Sahiwal to educate students and teachers about online fraud, cyber harassment and the safe use of social media.
The awareness campaigns were organised under the direction of NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, with large numbers of students and faculty members participating.
During the sessions, NCCIA officers explained how students can protect themselves from online harassment and use social media responsibly. Participants were also taught how to identify fake links, avoid One-Time Password (OTP) scams, recognise fraudulent loan applications and protect themselves from online financial fraud.
Officials warned that cybercriminals often use fake prize offers and attractive job opportunities to trick people into sharing personal information or sending money. Such scams can put victims’ financial information and digital accounts at risk.
Students and teachers were also informed about the procedure for reporting cybercrime complaints through the NCCIA helpline 1799.
Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said protecting young people from cyber threats remains a key priority. He added that awareness campaigns would continue across Pakistan to encourage safer digital habits and promote responsible internet use.
