Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has directed the immediate provision of furniture to all government schools across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the upcoming fiscal year as part of the province’s declared education emergency. This move aims to end the widespread issue of students sitting on classroom floors due to inadequate facilities and to ensure full student enrollment.
While chairing a meeting to finalize the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the next financial year, the Chief Minister stressed that basic school infrastructure—including proper furniture, clean drinking water, and functional washrooms—is non-negotiable and must be prioritized. He assured participants that the necessary funds would be allocated without delay.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Adviser on Finance Muzzammil Aslam, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, and senior representatives from departments such as Education, Health, Planning, and Irrigation. Various departmental proposals for development projects were reviewed in the session.
Additionally, the Chief Minister announced a new initiative to improve education quality through mandatory modern training for newly recruited teachers. He emphasized that the upcoming ADP would be a visionary and community-focused document aimed at ensuring timely completion of projects with over 80% progress. He also reaffirmed that underdeveloped areas would receive special attention without any discrimination.
