The Sindh Health Department has confirmed that another resident of Karachi’s Orangi Town has died after being infected with Naegleria.
According to details, the patient began showing symptoms on May 28, 2025, and was admitted to the hospital on May 30. A test conducted on June 2 confirmed the presence of “Naegleria fowleri”, and the patient passed away within a couple of days.
The Health Department stated that this brings the total number of Naegleria-related deaths in Sindh this year to two — both victims were residents of Karachi.
