Another case of mpox has been reported in Karachi, bringing the total number of cases recorded in the city to 10.
According to sources at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital and Research Center in NIPA, mpox has been confirmed in a 40 year old resident of Gulistan e Johar.
The affected patient has been admitted to the hospital’s isolation ward, where he is being kept under medical observation.
The administration stated that the patient has no history of foreign travel, while PCR testing of his samples confirmed the presence of the mpox virus.
According to sources, a total of seven mpox cases have so far been reported at the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital, while the overall number of mpox cases across Karachi has reached 10.
