Two decades ago, heart disease was largely considered an issue for older individuals, but now medical experts are raising alarms about its alarming rise among the youth.

‎Heart conditions in young people have become a serious concern, and experts are pointing to several contributing factors. Executive Director of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Professor Dr. Sagheer, has offered crucial advice for preventing heart diseases.

‎According to Dr. Sagheer, lifestyle changes in the modern age play a significant role in the rise of heart-related problems. “People no longer focus on healthy eating. They avoid physical activity, do not walk regularly, and neglect proper sleep,” he said.

‎He further pointed out that today’s youth are increasingly avoiding walking even for small tasks like grocery shopping, preferring motorcycles instead. “Online shopping has become a fashion trend, but it is a dangerous one,” he warned.

‎Dr. Sagheer emphasized that many families have a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. In such cases, all family members should undergo regular health screenings.

‎He identified a sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy diet, smoking, and rising stress levels as major contributors to heart problems among the younger population. “This is especially worrying because younger patients have longer life spans ahead of them, and early onset of heart disease can lead to serious and long-term complications,” he concluded.
