Pakistani actor Imran Ashraf is all set to make his international film debut with the upcoming Punjabi-language movie “Enna Nu Rehna Sehna Nai Aunda,” which will be released worldwide on August 22, 2025, except in India.

The film, a Canadian-Indian Punjabi production, marks a significant milestone in Ashraf’s career as he transitions from local television and cinema to the global Punjabi film industry. Directed by Rupen Bal and written by Surinder Arora, the movie blends comedy, romance, and cross-cultural themes, appealing to both South Asian diaspora and Punjabi-speaking audiences worldwide.

Originally scheduled for release in May, the film was delayed due to regional tensions, but the new release date has now been confirmed by the production team. The distribution will include theatrical runs in Pakistan, the UK, Canada, the US, and several Gulf countries.

Ashraf stars alongside prominent Punjabi actors Jassie Gill, Ranjit Bawa, Mandy Takhar, and Sapna Pabbi. The ensemble cast is expected to attract a diverse audience, especially among international students and immigrants, as the film explores the experiences of South Asians navigating life abroad.

The official trailer, released on Ashraf’s social media, showcases a mix of lighthearted moments and emotional undertones. Fans have praised the actor’s effortless Punjabi dialect and comedic timing.

This project is also being seen as a soft cultural bridge between Pakistan and the international Punjabi film community. While the movie won’t release in India due to distribution restrictions, it is expected to perform well in other territories with large Punjabi-speaking populations.

Imran Ashraf, best known for his critically acclaimed roles in television dramas like Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and Mushk, has called this project a “dream come true” and a chance to represent Pakistan on a wider cinematic stage.
