The Aga Khan University (AKU) hosted a documentary screening highlighting the growing impact of climate change on communities in Northern Pakistan. The event brought together students, researchers, environmental experts, and members of the public to discuss the challenges posed by rising temperatures, glacier melt, and extreme weather events.

The documentary showcased the experiences of communities in the country’s northern regions, where climate-related changes are affecting livelihoods, water resources, agriculture, and local ecosystems. It also emphasized the importance of climate resilience, sustainable development, and community-led adaptation efforts.

Speakers at the event stressed the need for increased awareness, scientific research, and collaborative action to address the environmental challenges facing vulnerable regions. Participants engaged in discussions on the role of education, policy, and innovation in mitigating the effects of climate change.

AKU officials noted that such initiatives aim to promote informed dialogue and encourage greater public engagement on environmental issues that have significant implications for Pakistan’s future.
