Alima Khanum, Sister of PTI Founder, Speaks to Media at Gorakhpur Factory Checkpoint

Alima Khanum, sister of the PTI founder, addressed the media at the Gorakhpur factory checkpoint, strongly criticizing government actions and clarifying their stance on meeting the party leader.

She stated that any offer for negotiations did not come from the Tehreeq-e-Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan (Protection of Constitution) but was allegedly from a “fake Prime Minister.” She added that the Protection of Constitution committee would meet them to discuss negotiations, but she emphasized, “We will not return without meeting the founder, no matter what happens.”

Alima Khanum said they had decided together—herself and her two sisters—to insist on the meeting. She warned that authorities could use water cannons, tear gas, or baton charges, but they would not leave without seeing the PTI founder.

She explained that delays in reaching the checkpoint were due to the closure of motorways allegedly ordered by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi, which blocked access from Lahore. She criticized authorities for closing Adyala and other parts of the city to prevent the meeting, saying, “If they weren’t afraid of Suhail Afridi, they wouldn’t have shut down the whole city of Lahore.”

Alima Khanum condemned the complete lockdown of Lahore, noting that main roads including Main Boulevard and Zaman Park were blocked, electricity cut, and fences erected to prevent public action. She asserted that police could not stop the citizens of Lahore from taking to the streets.

She concluded by reiterating that the PTI founder had instructed supporters to stand against oppression, and they were following those instructions, emphasizing the strong resistance against restrictions imposed by authorities.
