Another HIV case has been reported at Walika Hospital, with an 18 month old child testing positive, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 95.
Another new case has emerged in the HIV outbreak linked to Walika Hospital, where HIV has been confirmed in an 18 month old child.
Following this latest case, the number of confirmed HIV cases has reached 95, while nine children have died so far.
According to the father of the affected child, his 18 month old son, Abdul Samad, received treatment at Walika Hospital in December 2025, after which the child remained continuously ill. He said that due to the child’s persistent illness, an HIV test was conducted, which confirmed the virus.
The child’s father stated that he has five children and will also have the remaining children tested for HIV to ensure their health status.
